Today we had my Grandma’s funeral. It was a hard yet blessed day. My Grandma is a sweet lady who will always be remembered for her faith and kind, gentle nature. She was the kind of Grandma who would call just to see how your day was going. And she would always call when one of my children were in the hospital (which was often).

The text for the service was

“One thing I have desired of the Lord,

That will I seek:

That I may dwell in the house of the LORD

All the days of my life,

To behold the beauty of the LORD,

And to inquire in His temple.

Pastor brought out that this was Grandma’s desire and now she has her desire fulfilled eternally. Grandma was a person who loved to be in God’s house and when she couldn’t anymore, listened with a web radio twice a Sunday. What a rich heritage to pass to her children & grandchildren.

While I don’t wish my Grandma back I will definitely miss her! She was a very special lady. I am glad that my mom brought her to our house for coffee 3 weeks ago and that we were able to have her here one more time before she passed away. She really enjoyed watching the boys enjoy their bubble machine and laughed when all the bubbles blew in her face. It was a very special time and I’m very glad we were able to have that time together.
