Benjamin doesn't seem to be doing as well today. His O2 challenge was only 50 but the doctor said that he expected that because of the change of circuit yesterday and them trying to wean him. Today they are going to add another machine to his already crowded room. They are going to put him on a dialysis machine that will be added to the ECMO. They have been giving him lasix which is a diurectic but they want to wean him off this drug because they don't want it to affect his kidneys.

Today we've been here for 2 weeks. We are getting emotionally drained but are hanging in there.

Awwww....when Marty was going through chemo, this verse was (and still is) near to our hearts: Isaiah 40:30-31...Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Praying daily, the M. Pronk family

Long hospital stays are no fun - been there :( Praying Benjamin has a turn for the better and is healthy enough to come home with you soon.

Greta & Gary

I just can't imagine the emotional roller coaster you two have been on for the last two weeks. Your Faith has inspired me and I'm sure others too. I Pray that God gives you Strength and Will to face whatever lies ahead.

I Pray for Peace and Comfort for Sweet Benjamin.

Kyle had a Great time at Pre School this morning. I was sitting at the little table in the kitchen centre, I asked Kyle if he could make me some breakfast, he went over to the cupboard and got a piece of bread and an egg and put it on a plate, then he put it in the oven and then on the table in front of me. I asked Kyle if he could give me some coffee, he got a tea pot and pretended to pour coffee in a cup, he gave me the cup and said "coffee hot". Kyle then poured himself a cup of coffee, sat down at the table and started blowing "hot" he said - Too Cute. At Circle time Teacher Donna had the children's name on separate cards, and she was asking the kids "whose name is this," whose name starts with the letter 'K' Kyle immediately put up his hand and he looked so Proud of himself.
I miss you Benjamin and your Spunky personality.

Hugs and Prayers

Greta & Gary,
I heard this song today and was struck by the words and how it speaks to what you are going through right now. May you also feel "rest in the shadow of HIS wings." Praying unceasingly for Benjamin and both of you.

Healing Hand Of God (Jeremy Camp)

I have seen the many faces of fear and of pain
I have watched the tears fall plenty from heartache and strain
So if life's journey has you weary and afraid
There's rest in the shadow of His wings

I have walked through the valleys, the mountains, and plains
I have held the hand of freedom that washes all my stains
If you feel weight of many trials and burdens from this world
There's freedom in the shelter of the Lord

And I have seen the healing hand of God
Reaching out and mending broken hearts
Taste and see the fullness of His peace
And hold on to what's being held out
The healing hand of God

And I have touched the scars upon His hands to see if they were real
He has walked the road before me, he knows just how I feel
When you feel that there's not anyone, who understands your pain
Just remember all of Jesus's suffering

'Cause I have seen the healing hand of God
Reaching out and mending broken hearts
Taste and see the fullness of His peace
And hold on to what's being held out

Cast all your cares on Him for He cares for you
He's near to the broken and confused
By His stripes our spirit is renewed
So enter in the joy prepared for you

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
