So much has happened since I last posted on here....

We had a great summer. Kyle & Benjamin really enjoyed going to the lake. Kyle loved playing in the sand but didn't like the water too much as he thought it was too cold. Benjamin loved just laying on the beach and slept a lot of the time we were there.

In September Benjamin was able to try out a stander (see picture below) and really enjoyed it. We are working on getting our own stander through the At Home Program and the funding for it is now in place. We will hopefully be getting it in December.

Benjamin is still on oxygen and is expected to be until his 2nd birthday depending how this cold/flu season goes. He is on 1/2 L right now but was on a 1/8L about 2 weeks ago. He got his 1st cold (since being home) 2 weeks ago which is why his oxygen is higher again. But it seems to be coming down fast from the cold so hopefully he'll be back down to 1/8 L in a week or so.

We are really working with physio to get him to use his left arm & leg. Because of his bleed when he was born, Benjamin has lower muscle tone on the left side. So we basically have to teach his brain that he has a left side and how to use it. He has come such a long way since we started working with physio. He is now able to sit on his own for 10-15 minutes at a time as long as we're near by to catch him when he's tired. He is starting to enjoy his tummy and it's getting to be less of a struggle to get him to have tummy time without complaining the whole time.

Benjamin loves to lay on his side and play with all his toys. Although, it seems like he always wants the one that Kyle has and Kyle always wants the toy that Benjamin has. Benjamin also loves to bounce on his peanut ball (a special physio ball) and play peek a boo with Kyle. He has such a cute laugh. It is so much fun to just sit and watch the boys interact. For example, today Benjamin was just giggling at Kyle because Kyle was putting the spit cloth over his face and then taking it off. Benjamin thought this was just hilarious.

Kyle has been talking (gibberish) a lot. He loves to tell me stories:) He still isn't walking but we're not too worried about this as he does know how. We think he's just being lazy and that he thinks crawling is faster. He loves to get into stuff that he's not allowed in. Lately he has been putting the oxygen cord around his neck. Silly guy... Don't worry, he gets in trouble when he does that as I do not want him choking himself. He loves to help mommy "bake". He takes all my baking pans out of the cupboard and puts the springform pan over his head. Then he stacks and unstacks the little containers from his food.

Kyle isn't gaining weight very well so we have to see a dietician for him in November. We're not too worried about it ourselves since he eats really good. But it is a good thing to get checked out... He is still 17 lbs and is 20 months now.

A couple weekends ago we went to Okanagan Falls on our 1st vacation as a whole family:) We had a great time there and went on lots of walks and just relaxed. It was great to get away as a family even though we had a few hitches in our vacation. This was when Benjamin caught his cold and we ran out of oxygen and had to drive to Kelowna for more. But it was a lovely drive and we visited my oma & opa so it worked out in the end. All in all we really enjoyed this vacation.

Gary & I are looking forward to our 5th anniversary in November. It's hard to believe we've been married that long already! Well, it might not seem long to some of you:) But to us the time has flown.

I'll try be more faithful in keeping the blog up so look back for more updates.
