Well, here it is Wednesday evening and Benjamin is back with his favourite nurses.... Tuesday, Benjamin was admitted to Abbotsford hospital on account of a bad cold. Monday night Benjamin's oxygen went up but we didn't really think anything of it since it does that more often if he's overtired. Well, Tuesday morning I had to turn it up to 2L (usually on 1/16 to 1/2). Then he started sounding wheezy and crackly so I called home oxygen to come take a look at him. She came and told us to go to emergency with him. So Gary came home from work and off we went. At Chilliwack emergency they did and RSV swab and a chest x-ray and then transferred him to Abbotsford to be admitted. Tuesday night Benjamin's oxygen went up to 4.5L and he had to have ventolin every hour to keep his saturation levels up high enough. This morning he was a little bit better and we were able to wean him down to 1.5L but then this afternoon he was back up to 2.5-3L. The testing came but and he does not have RSV but he does have pneumonia. So it will be a waiting game as to when he can come back home. Once his oxygen levels are back down to a more reasonable level and he isn't as wheezy then he will be able to come home and we can manage it from there. Hopefully it will be soon!!!

But we sure have a little trooper!!! This afternoon after he slept for more than 15 minutes at a time in more than 24 hours he was happy & playful for a bit even though he couldn't breathe properly. Benjamin is one of those people who does not complain much. Even when he was getting 8 teeth coming through all at once we gave him Tylenol because we thought he'd be in pain- not because he complained. This is the type of little boy he is. I guess it's because he's been through so much in his short life.

Well, I'm going to try and get some sleep now since I haven't really slept since Monday night!

Please pray that Benjamin will get better soon and that the pneumonia will have no long lasting effects on his lungs.

Dear Gary, Greta & boys,
You will definitely be in our prayers. God never changes so He will help the same in this scenario as He did right from the early beginning of the boys' lives. Praying for strength for all of you.
Love Robert & Sandra

Hey greta and gary!
Hope all is going a bit better over there! Man, sounds like you're having quite an adventure with the little guy! Praying that you'll be able to come home soon with him (hopefully your getting some food over there....when Seth was in for RSV I got one piece of toast per day...let me know if this is still the case...I will personally deliver a meal) I was just starving by the time he could come home! Take care. luv steph Hampson
