Tuesday, March 6

Kyle looks so sad today. He is not feeling very well. He has an infection in his blood, which they are giving him antibiotics for. He keeps desatting and the nurses have had to “bag” him a couple of times. The doctor is considering taking the picc line out because he thinks the infection might be from that. His platelets are still low after the transfusion last night so they have to give him another platelet transfusion. They also gave him a red cell blood transfusion. We’re praying that he gets over this infection fast. His weight is at 660 grams (up 30g). He is getting fed 2ml every 2 hours and they are hoping to put it up to 3 ml every 2 hours at midnight.

Benjamin looks good today. The doctors think he might have an infection as well so they are giving him antibiotics until it’s proven. His weight is at 680 grams (up 10g). He threw a temper tantrum today (yes, starting young already) because he did not like the way the nurses positioned him.
