Thursday, March 29

We are now at Children's Hospital in Vancouver. At about 12:00 we got told that the transport team would be picking up Benjamin & Kyle. Well, I didn't want to get too excited because of what happened yesterday but here we are at Children's. I haven't been able to see my boys yet because they are settling them. I rode in an ambulance with Benjamin. He did really well. He wasn't too agitated although they did set his oxygen level up already before we started. Auntie Ali got to ride in the ambulance with Kyle. She said that he was trying to figure out what was going on the whole time as he kept looking around. He did startle a couple of times but I think he did okay as well. Now we are here and Daddy is on his way here. Hopefully I get to see my boys soon. We don't actually know when the surgery is- hopefully tomorrow. I found out that the PDA surgery is actually open heart surgery. They still say it's routine surgery but I find it kind of scary! Please pray that all will go well and also for strength for Gary & me. I'm not sure if we're coming home tonight or staying here but I'll try to update you tomorrow.

Well, it's 8:30 p.m. and we're home now. The doctor at Children's now said that it's not open heart surgery- it's a blood vessel near the heart. We are planning on going back to Children's tomorrow. They are going to do an echocardiogram tomorrow morning and do all the paperwork. We don't have a time for the surgery yet but they are hoping to do it tomorrow or Saturday. We are planning on staying in Vancouver tomorrow night hopefully and then we'll see the next day.
