Just thought I'd do a post to answer some questions...
Does 'dancing' mean that he's being overstimulated? Or is this a good thing?
Yes, it means he's overstimulated. Usually he tries to wiggle down the bed or move from side to side to show us that he is agitated. It's good because it shows that he has proper neurological function because he's showing that he does get agitated when he has too much stimulation or when he doesn't like something the nurses have to do. But yet it is not good because then he tends to fight the ventilator.
What do they do when they bag Benjamin?
They take him off the ventilator and force the air in his lungs manually with a balloon type contraption.
And the fluids are they in his lungs?
Yes, there is fluid in his lungs but in the last post when I was talking about getting rid of fluid I meant urinating. They want him to have a neutral balance of fluids in & out but are ok with him having +/- 200.
