Today we had a birthday party in the cafeteria with Kyle. When we first saw Kyle, Gary picked him up & swung him in the air and he was giggling!! Then I came and gave him a big hug and asked him if he missed me & he said "yes" It was great to see him again after a week of not seeing him. Auntie Debbie brought a Thomas the Train cupcake cake and Kyle had a hard time waiting to eat it. He then opened his gifts and said that he wanted to go back to Auntie Debbie's house. It's good to see that he misses us but yet loves it at Auntie Debbie's.

When we came to Benjamin's room this morning there was a big birthday banner above his room:) Last night when we went for dinner we were going to stop somewhere to find a banner but the store wasn't open. So we were looking in the gift shop this morning but there wasn't anything there either. So we were really surprised when we came to his room this morning and saw the banner. It is good to see that Children's hospital takes the time to do things like this for the children. He also had a sticker on his bed. And then later someone came & dropped off 2 gifts- one for Benjamin & one for Kyle. Benjamin received a big dump truck & a book and Kyle received a tool set & a book. We were amazed that they did all this for our children. It made this day a little more special.

Benjamin seems to be doing ok. He has gotten a couple of bed sores now so they are covering them with duoderm and hoping that they don't get too aggravated. The nurses move Benjamin every 6 hours but can only move him so much. So he still gets sores. The rest stays about the same. They are hoping that Thursday they can take him off ECMO but it totally depends on how he is doing.
