Benjamin is doing about the same. He was really cold today so they brought some warm blankets but that didn't really work so they brought out something called a bair hugger. It is basically a heater with a hose that hooks into something that looks like an air mattress. It is toasty warm under there and he has been sleeping since they put it on early this afternoon.

Tonight they are going to start weaning Benjamin off the ECMO. It is a really slow process and it totally depends on how he does as to when he will come off the machine. They of course don't want to take him off too soon so they do all these tests and slowly lower the numbers and then do more tests. The nurse on today said she wouldn't be surprised if it would take until Monday. We are trying to have low expectations so that if it does take a long time we won't be surprised or overly disappointed.

He is a lot more settled today. Probably due to the fact that he's had a couple explosive diapers and is now nice & warm. We now have to wait for his lung function to increase and pray that the rest of his body will remain strong enough to help this process along.
