I haven't really known what to post about lately. Benjamin was in the hospital for 4 days due to new seizures. He came home from the hospital with his seizures under control and then the next morning they started up again. They have been steadily getting more frequent the past 2 weeks and when we called his neurologist she told us that she doesn't know what to do and that he is beyond her expertise. So she referred us to an epilepsy specialist at Children's. She put the referral in on a Thursday afternoon and Friday morning I received a phone call with an appt a little more than a week away. Now how's that for fast in the health care system!?! So hopefully she will have an idea of what to do.

In the meantime we are trying to live as normal a life as possible- he's still going to preschool and in the church nursery. I'm not too nervous about preschool but I am always a little bit nervous putting him in the church nursery since it's different people babysitting all the time. And I'm sure they're nervous as well but I was told by someone in our church that people would just have to get used to it. But it's still a little bit nervewracking for me. I spent some time this week typing up some instructions just in case he does have a seizure in the nursery and that helped me out. I know I shouldn't worry- because God has it all under control- but it's hard for me by nature.

Those are my thoughts for the day. Hopefully I'll have some more answers once we see the specialist.

That's awesome that they're getting him in so quickly. I pray that your life can stay pretty normal in the meantime.... and for your nerves. :)

Hi Greta,

How are things going with Benjamin? Is he still seizuring?
May God give you and Gary the strength you need as you go through these worrisome times.

A sister in Christ.

Yes Benjamin is still having seizures. They are still trying to figure out what to do for him.

So happy to hear he is doing that much better! Praying for you all for strength and courage? That the Lord touches Benjamin's body and upholds you all. May God's plans unfold as they should and may He give you peace.
